Two important ideas determine how PEPINO shoes are made: an awareness of health and the environment. This means that it is absolutely necessary to use harmless materials that may be returned to raw material cycles with a good conscience.
RICOSTA only uses leather from European tanneries working to environmentally-friendly and quality-aware standards. All materials are produced with approved dyes and – wherever possible – without chemical additives. The soles are free from harmful adhesives. PEPINO shoes come with, among other things, the Sympatex climate membrane that is also easy to recycle.
We work with partners and suppliers who are just as ecologically-aware and environmentally-friendly as we are.
